Take a Book, Leave a Book: CES Welcomes Little Free Library
Little free library

You might have noticed a Little Free Library pop up this week in the front garden at CES! This is thanks to the hard work of sixth grader Everett G. He explained the project recently at a school wide assembly, sharing:

"Mrs McKnight and I have been working together for the past few months to bring a little Free Library to CES. What is a Little Free Library? A Little Free Library is a weather proof structure where anyone can come to take a book or leave a book for free; no matter the time of day or the day of the week!

Each Little Free Library is registered and mapped on the Little Free Library website and has a steward that looks after it. For our Little Free Library, I will be the steward.

We started by writing a letter to Mrs. Anderson to get approval for our project. Then we looked at different designs. Once we chose the design we decided on ordering a kit made of composite material directly from LittleFreeLibrary.org. The composite material does not need to be painted and will not rot, so it should last a very long time. Next, I assembled the kit at home with my dad.

A huge thank you to the CES PTA for helping to fund this project!"
