Cambridge Town School District Board of Directors Minutes and Meeting Recordings


Below you will find a general breakdown of the proposed 2026-2027 Cambridge Town School District budget.

Please note: The Lamoille North website has additional budget information for the Lamoille Union Middle/High School and Green Mountain Technology & Career Center budgets, which are separate budgets that all towns within Lamoille North vote on.

For more information about proposed changes contained within this budget, please read the principal's report and report from the school directors. For further reading on budget development discussions, school board meeting minutes are available here. The school board formally began the budget development process on November 12, 2025.

An informational meeting about the proposed budget will be held at 6:00 PM on Monday, March 2, 2026. Community members are welcome to attend this meeting to ask questions and learn more about the proposed school budget. The meeting will take place in-person at CES, with an option to join virtually through Google Meet. (The link to join this meeting will be available here.)

The annual meeting of the Cambridge Town School District will take place beginning at 1:00pm (or following town meeting) on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 in the Cambridge Memorial Gymnasium. At this meeting, two members of the Cambridge Town School District board and two members of the Lamoille North Modified Unified Union School District board will be elected by ballot. The community will also have the opportunity to discuss moving board member elections and other questions to australian ballot. Finally, there will be non-binding discussion about the proposed school budget. This meeting will be live-streamed. For more information, please click here.

Voting on the school budget will be held by australian ballot on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM in the Cambridge Memorial Gymnasium. For more voting information, please click here. To request an absentee ballot, register online the Vermont Voter Portal or reach out to the Cambridge town clerk’s office by calling 802-644-2251 (option 1) or emailing clerk@cambridgevt.org. The deadline to request an absentee ballot is Monday, February 23rd at 4:00 p.m.

Notes of Interest:

This fall a survey was distributed across all Lamoille North towns asking about education investment priorities in our communities. The results of that survey showed the following areas of most importance to be:

  1. Instruction & Classroom Resources
  2. Student Support Services (counseling, social-emotional learning)
  3. Co-Curricular Programs (athletics, arts, clubs)
  4. School Safety

The Cambridge Elementary School proposed budget shows:

  • 71.41% of the budget directly supports Instruction & Classroom Resources and Student Supports
  • Cambridge continues to strongly support care of its school building and learning environment with 10% of the budget devoted to facilities care
  • The third highest category of investment is in the Transportation and School Nutrition programs, followed by Technology
  • Finally, School Safety & Security is the area of the budget with the largest increase in investment

Other Notes:

  • General fund expenses are down 3.68%. Overall expenses when including grant funded programs are down 2.13%
  • Education Spending is down 3.14%
  • Education Spending per pupil is down 2.90%
